Hi! I'm Amanda Dolasinski, a creative video storyteller.
I recently joined the communications team for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where I help create content that highlights American innovation and creativity for the organization's social media platforms.
Previously, I was the #InfluenSewer, ahem - communications officer, for the City of Alexandria's Stormwater Management Division and Flood Action Alexandria program. And long before that, I was a newspaper and magazine reporter. I have 15 years of experience in writing, reporting and creative storytelling.
I tap into my creative storytelling skills to educate and inform. My work has helped bridge the gap of misinformation into cohesive messaging that could otherwise be dull and forgettable.
I'm happiest when I'm knee-deep in the mud juggling a few cameras as I follow subject matter experts in the field. I spend an ungodly amount of time hunched over my MacBook Pro editing in the dark.
I have advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and InDesign. I have basic skills in Audition and Illustrator.
I’m a dogged reporter always in pursuit of a fascinating story. I’m quick on my feet and cool under the pressure of breaking news. I'm drawn to public service because it gives me an outlet to use my God-given skills to serve my community.
